Master of Engineering is a 3 term course-based program designed for working professionals or recent graduates who want to increase their knowledge in multiple advanced topics.

Focus your Master of Engineering degree in either Civil Engineering, Electrical and Computer Engineering, Environmental Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, and Automotive Engineering.

Focus your MEng degree in one of the following areas:

  • Civil Engineering
  • Electrical and Computer Engineering
  • Environmental Engineering
  • Industrial Engineering
  • Mechanical Engineering
  • Mechanical Engineering (Automotive Option)

Admission Requirements

Student in Canada

  • Undergraduate degree in a relevant Engineering discipline with at least a 72% average
  • No more than three failed or repeated courses in the applicants post-secondary education with only one occurring in years 3 & 4
  • CV/Resume
  • The Faculty of Engineering and the Faculty of Graduate Studies reserve the right to require further demonstration of English Language proficiency.
  • View the Graduate Studies page for more information on admission requirements and English exemptions.

*English language improvement programs are available if you require extra training prior to entry into the academic program, or have received lower-than-required test scores.

Student outside of Canada

  • Undergraduate degree in a relevant Engineering discipline with at least a 72% average

  • For those requiring proof of English language proficiency:
    • International English Language Testing Systems (IELTS) – minimum score of 6.5.
    • Internet-based Test (IBT) of English as a Foreign Language (TOEFL) or TOEFL iBT Home Education ‐ minimum score of 92
    • For minimum requirements in other equivalent examinations, information is available on the Faculty of Graduate Students website.
    • English Language Improvement Program ‐ Completion of Level 3 with a minimum score of 75%
