Zach came to the University of Windsor to obtain his Master of Engineering degree. He gained the necessary industry skills and knowledge from his courses that helped him excel in his current field of work. The resources that helped him succeed in his university career are the International Student Centre (ISC) and Career Development Services (CDEL), as they assisted with work permits, visa’s and strengthening his resume and cover letter. His advice to incoming international students is to gain as much work experience in Canada as possible and to utilize UWindsor’s on-campus resources to succeed.

Kaiyuan was very involved in extracurricular activities during his time at the University of Windsor, acting as the president of the student society in his program and was part of the International Recruitment team to assist international students who are interested in attending the University of Windsor. Taking part in these activities ignited his passion for giving back to the community and inspired him to become a police officer. Kaiyuan’s advice to incoming international students is to not feel discouraged by cultural differences and language barriers, as these will be your greatest strengths.
