Faculty and senior students will be on hand to describe the first year experience and offer advice on success and the variety of exciting experiences open to a Physics major. The student-led Physics Club will be in attendance to welcome the incoming students, describe their activities, and encourage participation in the Department. Current students and faculty will be able to answer any questions an incoming student might have.

This is a must-attend event for incoming Physics/Medical Physics majors who have questions that need answering and want to get the most out of their first year at the University of Windsor.

During the HK Program Orientation, incoming undergraduates will get the chance to meet our faculty, staff, KinOne Leaders, HK Society representatives, and enjoy a complimentary lunch. In the afternoon, they will attend a session led by their Student Success Coordinator to support their transition to university, tour the Toldo Lancer Centre, participate in ‘hands-on’ activities, and learn the popular HK Chant for the Welcoming Ceremony.

In this presentation, we will introduce the academic programs offered in Economics at the University of Windsor.

These programs include:

  • Bachelor of Science (Honours Economics)
  • Bachelor of Arts (Honours Economics)
  • Bachelor of Arts (Combined Honours Economics)
  • Bachelor of Science (Combined Honours Economics)
  • Bachelor of Arts (3-year Economics)

We will also provide descriptions of both core and elective Economics courses, along with suggested schedules for each academic program.

Following the presentation, there will be a Q&A session and a welcome luncheon hosted by the department.

Nursing

This session is mandatory.

Nursing students will be welcomed by Faculty and Staff, especially those teaching in year 1 for the fall semester. Throughout the session, students will learn about main concepts within the nursing curriculum and will be introduced to various resources and supports that will help students transition to year 1 nursing courses. An Experiential Learning Lab orientation will be provided along with many opportunities for students to ask questions about pre-clearance clinical requirements, Brightspace, Accessibility Services, and more. An optional short tour of the nursing labs at the end of the day will be available.

Please note: All experiential learning labs will start the week of Sept 8th. All Human Anatomy & Physiology labs will start the week of Sept 8th.

Continental breakfast and lunch will be provided. Please bring a reusable water bottle for your day and your laptop or device. If you require additional details about this mandatory orientation, you may contact nurse@uwindsor.ca.
