Official Contest Rules & Regulations:

University of Windsor – Undergraduate International Student Visa Residence Promotion

Overview:

International students admitted to a direct-entry undergraduate program at the University of Windsor who submit their study permit application to Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC) on or before June 30, 2025, will be entered into a random draw to win a one year of free on-campus residence in Cartier Hall (double occupancy), valued at CAD $9,500.

  1. CONTEST
    1. The University of Windsor Office of Enrollment Management (the “University”) is the sponsor of the Undergraduate International Student Visa Residence Promotion (the “Contest”).
    2. This Contest will begin May 13, 2025, at 12:00 AM Eastern Time (ET) and end July 1, 2025, at 12:00 AM ET (“Contest Period”).
  2. ELIGIBILITY, HOW TO ENTER
    1. No purchase necessary. Limit one entry per person. This Contest is open to all international students intending to study in Canada only, and who have reached the age of majority in their respective jurisdiction at the time of entry.
    2. The Contest is open to all individuals (“Entrant(s)”):
      1. Admitted as an international student to a direct-entry undergraduate program at University of Windsor for Fall 2025; and
      2. As of May 27, 2025, must not have submitted a study permit application that was verified by Immigration, Refugee and Citizenship Canada (IRCC), as determined by the Letter of Acceptance (LOA) verification student in IRCC’s Designated Learning Institute (DLI) portal;
    3. Entrants may enter the Contest by completing all the following:
      1. Accept their offer of admission to the University of Windsor by June 30, 2025;
      2. Pay any applicable tuition deposits to the University of Windsor by June 30, 2025;
      3. Download their Provincial Attestation Letter (PAL) from the University of Windsor’s application portal by June 30, 2025; and
      4. Submit a valid study permit application to the IRCC and ensure the University of Windsor verifies their LOA via the DLI portal by June 30, 2025.
      5. Note: IRCC processing times vary by country, and students are encouraged to submit their application as early as possible. Eligibility for this Contest is based on timely and complete submission of all required documents including PAL and study permit applications.
    4. Entrants agree that the University shall be permitted to publish the names and program of study of all prize winners.
  3. HOW TO WIN
    1. One (1) winner will be randomly selected from all eligible entries on July 15, 2025 for each available prize. Odds of winning depend on the number of valid entries received.
    2. The winner will be notified through the email and/or phone number provided in their University of Windsor application. If a winner fails to respond to or claim their prize as outlined in the notification to the winner within five (5) business days of notification, the winner will forfeit their prize and an alternative winner will be selected by from the remaining eligible entries.
    3. The winner must, as a condition of winning a prize, correctly answer, the University’s time-limited, skill testing question to be administered by the University of Windsor Office of Enrollment Management.
    4. The selected winner must remain registered in a full-time course load for the duration of the Fall 2025 and Winter 2026 semesters and reside in Cartier Hall for the duration of the Fall 2025 and Winter 2026 semesters. If the selected winner is deemed ineligible due to violation of University of Windsor Residence Policies, deferral of admission to the University of Windsor, or withdrawal from a full-time course load, from residence, or from the University, before the end of the Fall 2025 and Winter 2026 semesters, the full value of the prize will be forfeited or charged back to the winner’s student account. If the prize is forfeited another winner will not be selected.
  4. PRIZES
    1. The available prizes are:
      1. One (1) x Double-occupancy room in Cartier Hall for two (2) semesters (Fall 2025 and Winter 2026), free of accommodation charges* (approx. value $9,500.00 CAD). *(Note: this prize does not include a meal plan, or any ancillary fees associated with living in residence and must be paid by the student);
    2. The prizes must be accepted as awarded. No substitutions of the prizes are permitted except by the University at its discretion. Prizes are non-transferrable and are not redeemable for cash or credit, in whole or in part.
  5. GENERAL RULES AND REGULATIONS
    1. By participating in this Contest, each Entrant and winner agrees to:
      1. Be bound by these Official Contest Rules and Regulations, and the decisions of the University; and
      2. Release and hold harmless the University of Windsor, its Board of Governors, officers, employees, and agents, including without limitation their advertising and promotion agencies, from and against any and all liabilities, losses, claims, causes of action, suits, covenants, debts, contracts, demands, costs and expenses, including lawyer’s fees and litigation expenses, whatsoever, to which any of them may become subject arising from any action or omission by the Entrant, including but not limited to, claims based on negligence, breach of contract and fundamental breach and liability for physical injury, death or property damage which the entrants or his or her administrators, heirs, successors or assigns might have or could have, by reason of or arising out of the Entrant’s participation in the Contest and/or in connection with the acceptance and/or use by the Entrant of the prize awarded, and the winner agrees to sign a written release confirming same.
    2. The decisions of the University in relation to this Contest will be final and binding on all Entrants.
    3. The University reserves the right, in its sole discretion, to terminate, suspend, or modify this Contest at any time without prior notice or if it determines that for any reasons the Contest cannot be run as originally planned or if fraud or any other occurrence compromises the fairness or integrity of the Contest.
    4. Each prize claimed is subject to verification by the University and/or its designated representatives. Entries made with multiple accounts, under multiple identities, or with any device or other method to enter multiple times or entries that are more than the permitted number of entries are automatically void. All Contest entries obtained through unauthorized sources, or which are incomplete or in any way not in compliance with these Official Contest Rules and Regulations are automatically void. The University is not responsible for lost or late entries. The University is not responsible for any miscommunications, failed communications systems, software malfunctions, or for any human errors in connection with this Contest.
    5. The information collected in connection with this Contest is collected under the authority of The University of Windsor Act, 1962-63 and will be used solely in connection with administration of the Random Draw including the notification of winner.

    7. This Contest is subject to all applicable laws of the Province of Ontario and the laws of Canada, as well as these Official Contest Rules and Regulations.
