Political Science / Concurrent Education

I wouldn’t trade my time at UWindsor Political Science for anything. The incredible professors I met and experiences I had paved the way for my path forward. Working on research with some of our professors inspired me to aim for a career in academia. I also took advantage of the courses taught in French at the faculty and am currently taking almost all of my law courses at McGill in French, which I don’t think I would have been able to do had it not been for the vocabulary and writing skills gained in those French-language Political Science classes!

I 100% credit my time in Political Science at the University of Windsor with setting me on the path I’m on today.  Programs like Outstanding Scholars – getting to publish scholarly work as an undergraduate – and EU Study Abroad – going overseas for the first time and exploring the EU – really opened my eyes to a world of possibilities.  The faculty in the department are top-notch, and the exciting course offerings are still among the favourites I have taken in my studies. There are so many incredible possibilities for what you can do with a Political Science degree, beyond what you could ever imagine.  When I started university, I never would have thought I would end up specialising in cybersecurity and digital politics.  Studying Political Science allows you to never stop learning, dig deeper into the world around you, and pursue some incredibly fulfilling job and life opportunities.

I completed my undergraduate degree at UWindsor from 2008-2013 and knew I wanted to stay to pursue my Masters degree in the Political Science department, as it had been such a warm and supportive experience. Several professors in the department were instrumental in me pursuing my graduate degree, and I appreciate their level of dedication to assisting me in honing my research and writing skills, while also providing opportunities to collaborate on academic pieces that they were working on. This has directly contributed to the pursuance a PhD, and I am very grateful for the support of so many mentors.
